AN INTENSIVE SHORT COURSE IN
HIGH CONTENT CELL IMAGING AND
ANALYSIS (HCA)
OCTOBER 1 - 3, 2006
The University of Dublin | Trinity College
Ollscoil Átha Cliath | Coláiste na Trionóide
The HCA course offers a comprehensive overview of
the essential methodologies, technologies and
strategies required by investigators wishing to embark
on research programmes based on, or incorporating
Image Based High Content Analysis.
The HCA Course Offers:

Opportunity to gain hands on experience with most advanced automated high
content analysis technologies currently available. Practical sessions will be guided
and supervised by top application scientists from organisations such as BD,
Cellomics and GE Healthcare.

Extensive course of lectures will be delivered by world class scientific experts who
lead their fields in areas such as HCA platform technologies, experimental design
and implementation, assay development, planning and deployment of automated
analysis and robotised workflow systems, image analysis, data interpretation and
information storage.

Case studies: These have been chosen to highlight both the advantages and
challenges of employing HCA technologies in a variety of research settings. The
course will also be supplemented by Q&A Sessions, held at the close of each
training day.

Informal and productive interaction sessions between scientists. Hence, size of
class will be limited.

Exciting social events to promote richer interaction between attendees and
attending scientific experts. The charm and hospitality of the vibrant city of Dublin
can be experienced first hand.

Opportunity to gain excellent grounding in the fundamental aspects of HCA
technology deployment and utilisation. Solid foundation formed will enable
participants to build further knowledge and experience in this new and exciting
scientific discipline.
