The Regulation replaces the Rome Convention of 1980 and has changed the law in a number of ways. Legal practitioners will need to be familiar with the new law when advising on contract and disputes involving employment, product sales, insurance or the purchase of foreign property, for example. The School of Law of Trinity College Dublin is holding a major international conference on the Regulation on Friday 9 October and Saturday 10 October. The speakers are world leaders in their subject.
