one week of SS2 for each of these courses. Dates are announced for this camp/practicum
experience each year, which takes place in a Pitt County School location. This practicum
experience may not be completed online and may not be waived.
Note: Any student who does not take classes during a regular semester (fall/spring) must reapply to the
Graduate School in order to reactivate his/her status as a graduate student and access to his/her ECU

Application for Graduation
Students must apply for graduation from the MAEd-ELEM Program AT THE
BEGINNING of the final semester during which coursework is completed. Application is
made by contacting the Graduate Director, Dr. Terry Atkinson, at atkinsont@ecu.edu.
Graduation takes place in spring and fall semesters only. If graduation is anticipated at
the end of summer session, application must take place at the beginning of spring
semester immediately preceding this final summer session. Students must be enrolled
in at least one course during the semester in which they wish to graduate
