The HEC MBAT will welcome over 1500 participants from the most prestigious European MBA schools who will compete in 26 individual and team sports. This year’s opening ceremony will prove to be an exciting experience as Mahyar Monshipour, six-time world boxing champion (Super bantamweight) and author of the bestseller La rage d’être français , will participate in exhibition fights with the French Olympic team (17 of May at 7pm). Over four days, HEC will bring together future leaders from the world over. This year, the MBAT has chosen “Where winning brings new meanings” as its theme. The tournament represents the largest annual event for MBA students with over 70 countries represented. The teams chosen to represent their university share a common passion: the desire to win. In competing the teams will embody the values of cooperation, fair play, and friendship. It will also be an exceptional opportunity to develop their professional and social networks. For sponsors, the MBAT represents a unique opportunity to establish professional relationships and reinforce their legitimacy with future international leaders. This year, the MBAT is sponsored by GMAC, Coca Cola, Air France, Viadeo and Alain Figaret. Valérie Gauthier, Associate Dean, HEC MBA program, is excited to welcome the participants. “HEC is proud to organize and participate in this great event. With 16 years of experience, we are ready to make these four days a unique experience of cooperation, associating competition with friendship, victory with sharing, and professionalism with fun.” For Rodrigue Chastenet de Géry, coordinator of the event and HEC MBA student, “the MBAT is a unique occasion to bring the 15 largest European MBA schools together around a single unifying theme: sport. Over these four days of festivities, we will welcome over 1500 participants – competing in 26 sports – to the HEC campus.” Beyond the competitions, the HEC MBAT is committed to promoting corporate social responsibility. For the second year in a row, the MBAT is giving part of the proceeds to the Gol de Letra Foundation, a nongovernmental organization founded by Rai de Oliveira that helps more than 1,100 children and teenagers in low-income neighborhoods in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In its centers, the children aged 6 to 14 have the chance to experience athletic activities and to participate in arts, writing, music, and technology workshops. Finally, the GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) works with the HEC MBA on its initiative named “Team MBA”, which helps business schools, students, professors and staff to bring about a positive change in society by organizing volunteer and other projects. Team MBA is a unifying force among the MBA students who are committed to social responsibility. The GMAC is an educational non-profit organization made up of the leading business schools around the world. Totally organized by HEC MBA students, the MBAT highlights the spirit of initiative and cooperation that guides the students during their studies and beyond. It is underlined by the philosophy of the programmed: “HEC, the MBA that builds character”. For more information, and for a schedule of events, please visit the website: http://www.mbat.org.
