Agenda

Earth Day Presentation and vote

Bobcat Build proposal and discussion

Disc golf course proposal discussion

American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists proposal discussion
Start of Meeting – 5:15PM

Earth Day discussion
 Requesting $1000 instead of $500 (last semester ESC funded $500)
 Funds will go to rent 10 individual tents @ 100/tent
 Last year they had one large tent and some vendors were “hidden” and
participants of the event did not see them
 Multi-Cultural Student Affairs matched ESC donation of 500. This year they
are not donating any funds
 Earth Day will give ESC a booth and possibly share a booth with NAEP

Motion to vote for Earth Day funding. 2nd Kayte

Bobcat Build Discussion
 Total cost of project is $25,000
 Kim Porterfield may have been funding Bobcat Build in the past
 ESC Application requirements not satisfied
 Application not approved

American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists
 Asking for $52.23 for eco-friendly laundry detergent and bags to hand out at
EarthDay
 Motion in favor to approve. 2nd Carter.
 Approved for the amount, if they want to expand the project, there is an option
to have additional funding from ESC

Disc Golf Proposal
 Project does not meet the necessary requirements for ESC funding
 John will contact Stephen Allen
 Committee rejects to approve the project

Nathan Lawrence is continuing the Chinese Tallow removal project 3/18

Funds from the E-waste event will be used for Sustainability Camp

ESC application discussion
 ESC website has been updated with a PDF printable version of the application
 Due to some confusion and needed clarity on applications, the following
changes will be made to the application
 Specify the sponsor requirements to state “University faculty & staff”
 Spelling change “sposner” to “sponsor
 Add an additional question to the application after the estimated labor
cost that asks for the amount that the applicant is requesting from ESC
 Add a check list of the requirements for approval that the applicant can
review as he/she is filling the application out (these are to be found on
the bylaws)
 Add requirements on the front page of the application
 Add “How did you hear about us” & “Additional Comments” at the end
of the application
 These changes will be made and updated on the website

Nancy suggested that we begin an Annual Report for the President to review at the end
of the semester
A Facebook link has been added to the ESC website
