II. Colin Lliff turned in application for entry into the ESC

voted in as a non-voting member

pitched for a sweepstakes between Grad students to propose their research
topic for funding
III. Announcements/Updates
a) Geography Organizations Council
1) Requesting that we send an officer to Feb. 11th Meeting @ 5:30
room ELA344
-make a powerpoint to present at meeting to better explain what
the ESC is and what it can do.
b) EHRSM Project Update- Sierra & Claudia
- Keeping in touch with Colleen Cook and will help with
promoting posts
c) Indigenous Cultures Final Report
d) ESC Video Project- Jonathan
- Rob has now started putting the video together by connecting
with student groups.
- Need to change due date
UPDATE: ESC mentioned in the Meadows center press release on
helping with the photography contest.
IV. Discussion

What do you all want out of the website?
-Bio’s for everyone in the ESC
-Graph with project,description and grant amount
-Application PDF on homepage - description
- Link to blogs of projects, updates on projects, Pictures
c) PR Efforts- Claudia
-Compile a task where she will contact members on how we can get
our name out to the campus
-Come with a line of items to help with promotion
-Present strengths and weaknesses
-Pick apart her ideas
-Mark: Going out and talking to student organizations face to face
to better help them understand what the ESC is all about
-Sustainability Org, Geology,Geography,Horticulture,Agriculture
-Open house at a event
-Create material to help promote
d) Goals for the semester
- Know in advance on how to manage the proposals that come in,
have more then one night
- Update website to be more thorough
- Tell the ESC’s history and communicate more effectively with the
students/campus
