Education/ Curriculum & Development
Create and implement curriculum both throughout the district Language Arts/English departments and directly in the English 10 and 12 classrooms.
Collaborate with large and small groups to set goals, discuss pedagogy, and implement best practice for students and teachers across the district and within the English department. Create and administer a variety of assessments to analyze skill sets and levels of knowledge. Collect and synthesize results to determine student’s success.
Work closely with at- risk, special education, and minority students. Ensure that differentiated instruction is obtained in the classroom and work with guidance counselors to communicate needs and goals with struggling students. Meet with teachers and parents to help focus students on educational plans and set realistic goals for success in school and post-secondary endeavors.
Build relationships with parents and guardians to aid in student success throughout the year. Work with community members to bring “real world” experience into the classroom and provide students with realistic outlooks on life.
Aid community organizations with various writing needs including hiring assessment scoring, editing and revising of publications, and writing copy for promotions and/or marketing needs.
