Agriculture & Natural Resources
Ad-hoc Committee to draft a strategy to
create a system of e-Extension program
leaders, duties to include working with
CSREES and other federal agency
partners.
 Action: PLN directs committee to work
with ECOP on a plan and to include other
program areas.
 D&A: Seek authorization to move forward.

Communications & Information
Technology
To better serve the needs of the Extension
programs of the region the committee
proposes the division of the committee.
The new committees would be (1)
Communications and (2) Information
Technology.
 Action: Previously studied and approved
by PLC.
 D&A: Seek approval.

Communications & Information
Technology
Authorize a study to look at the future
funding and purchase of a collaboration
tool for sharing information and
applications.
 Action: IT committee to research
 D&A: Seek endorsement for study and the
opportunity to demonstrate it to both
groups.

Community Development
Endorse the development a proposal on
the concept of a community development
educator certification.
 Action: Authorization to continue the
development the program proposal.
 D&A: Authorize the continued work. (see
concept paper as an information item.)

Family Consumer Sciences
and
4-H Youth Development

Form an integrated task force to develop a
position paper outlining strategies that will
engage CES in a preventative posture
regarding the topic of childhood obesity.
(we propose this including FCS, 4-H, CD
and possibly ANR).
Middle Management
Approval for a 2004 PLN pre-conference
focusing on urban issues.
 ASRED and AEA should reconfirm the
importance urban programming by
designating an urban MM committee
member and then supporting their
participation and travel to the PC
meetings.

CECP Support

Direct the Steering Committee to:
 develop
a strategy that will address the
imbalance of personnel needs that are seen
as being necessary to advance the CECP
program. Primarily a process that matches
instructional, graphic, and multi-media design
with subject matter. (P&SD)
 Place taxonomy competency review as a
priority to identify common elements, reduce
duplications and integrate PC courses as
necessary. (P&SD)
CECP Support
Charge the new CECP Steering Committee
with reviewing the 4-H Cooperative
Curriculum System and 4-H Experiential
Learning Design Team history regarding
intellectual property, copyrights, and
review and jury processes. (4-H)
 Action: Endorsement

CECP Support
Concern: There is a need to network
specialists and work teams to advance the
development of CECP. (FCS)
 Action: Request the financial support for
limited face-to-face meetings of module
development teams, along with electronic
inter-actions.

Report to the SR-PLN,(PLC, ASRED and AEA) from the PLC
and PLN-EC.
