Alumni involved in 4-H programming, recruitment and marketing.
Unity among clubs to share, market and work as a team.
Work on retention of younger youth.
See 4-H as a viable option amongst school aged youth.
Increase membership and attract youth with a wider array of interests.
Increase federation and high school youth involvement.
Offer more workshops for older youth in middle/high school.
Increase community awareness of the 4-H program.
Increase SPIN clubs and after school programing.
Expand 4-H involvement by marketing at community events.
4-H Fair Promotion







Booth located in visual arts and livestock area. Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5-8pm was
determined as a good time frame. Ask clubs to provide volunteers or alumni or parents. Possibly have
talks and demos at the booth to attract people as well as games or make and take projects.
Display pictures from over the years to promote 4-H.
Have information near the petting zoo, department W and have the fair queen promote 4-H.
Find the clover at the fair. Hide clovers each day and then finders can bring the clover to the booth for a
prize. Can spread the word at the banks, at the fair office, around the fairgrounds and on 96.3. (Deana

Something to connect 4-H to each grandstand night. Some sort of spoken part.
Master Showmanship





Celebrity scramble or event possibly with alumni too. (Beth, Amanda, Deana)
Pedal Tractor Pull
Take and make a project such as planting a flower.
Click wheel with prizes.
IGA pork chop booth were each club could take a shift.
Membership Expansion









Visit schools to target 5th and 6th grades, have the 7th and 8th graders be involved with a community
service, project, or activity.
Spin Club ideas included animal science.
Involve FB young leaders. (Deana Brooks)
Afterschool programs. Out the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s early. (Carissa Akpore)
Get more alumni to get their kids involved.
Presentations at the rec center, balloon fest, local fall festivals.
Partner with FFA, FACS and FBLA.
Grades 7-8 Federation middle school nights in the fall with minute to win it games and make pizza.
More cloverbud groups/events.
100 Years of Extension Celebration

Alumni and current representation on track before scrambles. Say the 4-H pledge and take pictures.

For 2013 National 4-H week, replace poster contest with t-shirt contest. Vote for the best t-shirt design
on Facebook. Order and buy by the clubs taking the orders. Order as a county for a better price. Can
wear during the 2014 fair. Conduct during October.
100 years in pictures. Create a book for instance of snapfish comprised of members, research standards,
lifestyles, projects, girl/boys club, etc.
Collect 100 cans and build a structure at the fair or at a local business to promote the club and 4-H. Do
during the fall/winter time.
