JASPER COUNTY
4-H AMBASSADOR
Jasper County 4-H Ambassadors will promote 4-H within the community and develop leadership
and communication skills. In addition to county activities Ambassadors will prepare to serve on
multi-county committees as well as state committees, if the opportunity arises. Every attempt
will be made to work with member’s schedules.
Ambassador Requirements:





Current 4-H Member
Currently in 7th grade – College Freshmen
Been a 4-H member at least 3 years
Agree to attend the training
Complete the Ambassador Application
Ambassadors will be divided into two age groups Jr. Ambassadors (7th-8th grades) and Sr.
Ambassadors (Freshmen- Freshmen College).
Ambassador Duties:

Junior Ambassador
 Promote 4-H in their schools
 Hand out ribbons & trophies at the 4-H Shows
 Radio and News Promotions
 Other activities determined by the current Ambassadors

Senior Ambassador
 Promote 4-H in the County to: local businesses, local government agencies and
local organizations
 Provide assistance at County Workshops for 4-H members
 Radio and News Promotions
 Other activities determined by current Ambassadors
Ambassador Training:
Sr. Ambassadors will meet for training in January. Jr. Ambassadors will meet in later for
training. During this training ambassadors will receive instruction and assistance in developing
the skills necessary for successful ambassadors. Areas to be highlighted will include:





Public Speaking
Presenting Yourself in public
Fun activities to use in presentations and in area clubs
4-H history, background information on the 4-H program in the county and state
Organizing activities for the upcoming 4-H year
Ambassadors will meet for training and meet once again in March/April to make plans for the
Fair and once again in September/October to prepare for National 4-H Week and Awards Night
activities.
