Applications must be received no later than six weeks before the date of the proposed closure. Working
dates and times are required to be approved by the Highways Department before a closure order can be
granted. Please contact either Gina Lambert on 01254 273515 or Ricky Wilson on 01254 273490.
A plan showing the extent of the road closure and diversion routes must be submitted with this application
form, along with the proposed traffic management details. All costs associated with traffic management are
the responsibility of the applicant.
The Local Authorities (Transport Charges) Regulations 1998 provides a means for a local authority to make
a standard charge of £400 for a temporary road closure. An invoice for this cost will be forwarded to you
following the closure, along with a recharge for the cost of the legal notices published in the Lancashire
Telegraph. The total cost will be in the region of £1000-£1400.
