VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTION Club/Group Recruitment Coordinator Purpose: To coordinate the 4-H recruitment efforts of the Extension Unit in target areas as defined by the 4-H Expansion and Review Committee. Success Criteria: 4-H promotion efforts are conducted in target areas of the Extension Unit including school presentations, library displays, mall exhibits, etc. using "4-H - The Fun Starts Here" and/or"4-H - Where Kids Invent Themselves" materials. Responsibilities: • Develop a plan in conjunction with unit staff for recruitment in the Extension Unit based on recommendations of the 4-H Expansion and Review Committee. • Prepare a budget in cooperation with the Unit Leader for "4-H - The Fun • Starts Here" and "4-H - Where Kids Invent Themselves" promotion presentations. • Recruit 4-Hers and volunteers to assist with presentations and follow up events. • Contact elementary, middle and junior high schools about school presentation for 8 – 11 and 12 - 14 year olds. • Set dates and locations of follow up events. • Invite Club Organizer Coordinator to follow up events and coordinate • roles at that event. • Order materials for presentations and follow up events. • Plan, prepare, and present presentations, library displays, mall exhibits, etc. • Thank teachers and/or other officials. • Invite interested youth and adults to follow up events. • Prepare for and host find out party including "hands on 4-H experiences". • Submit written report on presentations and follow up events to Unit Office and to Organizer Coordinator - give names of youth and prospects for volunteers. • Coordinate activities with other Middle Management Expansion Volunteers. • Provide progress reports to Expansion and Review Committee. Time Required: 4 - 8 hours per presentation and follow up event which included planning, preparation, and follow up.
