We recognise that this project proposal plan may not be definitive but eSTEeM will support you in
finalising your proposal. Please indicate any major constraints. Agreed projects will be asked to provide a
final revised plan before starting.

Please provide a brief description of the project aims or the research question? e.g. What pedagogic

d) Rationale and building on past work/fit with strategy [PLAN] (<200 words)
Why should this project be sponsored? For example, how will the proposed work build upon, or fit
in with, previous work in the area? How does this work support University and Unit strategy? What
prompted the proposal? How does the project link to your Unit plans? What is the intended impact
of the project on students? How does it fit with the themes of eSTEeM?
e) Outline of work plan (200 – 400 words in total)
What is going to be done and when? Provide an outline work plan for the project period. You may
ALSO use the project plan (Appendix A) to help you illustrate the details below.

example, What changes will you be implementing / data will you be collecting /
observations will you be making? When will these activities be carried out?

What potential problems do you see arising form the research and how will you deal with

f) Evaluation
Please suggest how you will evaluate the success of the project. For example, what are the
anticipated impacts of the project outcomes and activities e.g. on students, the sector,
internationally? How will you know? Who will be analysing the evidence/data/results (e.g. survey
findings, telephone interviews)? What analysis tools/methods are you expecting to use?
g) Dissemination
How will the outcomes and deliverables of the project be used and by whom? How will knowledge
be transferred? Please detail opportunities for wider uptake.
h) Resources
The funding available is limited, therefore to maximise return we will be looking closely at value for money
in the proposed budget. The primary resource is your time. However, the work may involve travel, surveys,
etc. Please indicate, as best you can, your need for support of such activities.
