RECALL
On graph paper, plot the endpoints J(1, 5) and
K(4, 1) and connect them. Measure JK .
On the same graph paper, double the x- and ycoordinates of the previous endpoints and connect
them. Labe the new segment J ' K ' and measure it.
NOTES
Suppose you draw a line segment on a coordinate grid,
then multiply the x- and y- coordinates of the endpoints
by ½. What conjecture can you make about the length
of the new segment?
