Look for daily news stories that portray the national government in action and highlight the issues/crises it must deal with everyday. Especially focus on stories that discuss Congress, the Presidency, Federal agencies, and the Supreme Court. You can also follow stories that involve national elections, politics, and politicians. Being able to discuss “real world” current events will greatly enhance your understanding of the theoretical concepts in this course. In addition, current events knowledge is assumed on the AP Exam free response section. To document your developing news habit keep a current events journal over the summer. Beginning Monday, June 29rd though Sunday, August 22nd , select at minimum ONE major national news story a week to write about. This a total of EIGHT article Reviews for the Summer. Please email your article reviews at the end of each week mlevin@sewanhaka.k12.ny.us Read the article and prepare a minimum one page review. Include a synopsis or summary of the article. This must be in your own words-DO NOT COPY FROM THE ARTICLE!!! 7-9 sentences Include 3-5 terms with their definitions that were new to you. Include a reaction or response to the article.
