August 24, 2007 TO: Board of Trustees FROM: The Academic Senate REGARDING: College Course Credit The Academic Senate sent a memo to the Board of Trustees dated August 21, 2007 recommending approval for college course credit to high school students who have taken and passed Advance Placement courses and examinations in psychology, economics, foreign language and U.S. government. At its meeting on August 23rd the senate reconsidered the acceptance of the Economics 101 (Micro) and the Economic 102 (Macro) courses. We are, at this time, withdrawing the request for approval of the Economics 101 and Economics 102 courses until further study. Please contact us if there are any questions and we appreciate your attention to this issue. Sincerely, __________________________ Yolanda Bellisimo, President Academic Senate
