Proposal Presentation
Power point presentation: The purpose of this assignment is to teach the class about your
project. Your presentation should be no more than 10 minutes long.
SLIDES
1: Title of Experiment, your name (first and last)
2: Problem or question you will be investigating, purpose, and possible time frame
3. Brief description of how you will be conducting your experiment
4: EXPERIMENTAL SETUP
 Independent Variable (be specific)
 Dependent Variable (be specific – what is being measured, how, units…)
5. EXPERIMENTAL SETUP
 Control Group
 Factors that must remain Constants
6: Materials (be as specific as possible – possible photos)
7: Why is your experiment important? How does it relate to the real world? Explain to the class,
and be specific.
8. Summary of article #1 (What did you learn about your topic from this article?)
9. Summary of article #2 (What did you learn about your topic from this article?)
10. Summary of article #3 (What did you learn about your topic from this article?)
11. Hypothesis supported by previously done research
12. References (APA citations for your article reviews)
FOR YOUR ARTICLE REVIEW SLIDES:
 Cite your slides that explain your article reviews using an in-text citation. Use citefast.com
to enter your information and click on “In-text” and add it to the bottom of your slides.
 Do not copy and paste your summary.
 Include key points. You can use bullets if you prefer.
 Its ok if you need more than one slide for your article reviews.
FOR YOUR HYPOTHESIS:
 Make sure you back up your hypothesis with specific research you did.
 EXAMPLES
o If… then… because according to (author) in (year)…
o If…then…because according to (article name) in (year)…
o If…then…because according to a study done by … in (year)…
TIPS TO REMEMBER:
 Make sure that the font on each slide is not too small. Someone who is sitting in the back of
the room should be able to easily read your slides.
 Use pictures, diagrams, graphs, etc., to explain.
 I WILL ask you questions, so make sure you are an expert! If you need to do some other
research to explain something, do it.
 Check your spelling/grammar.
 Speak clearly, project your voice, make eye contact and DO NOT read directly from the
slides.
 Practice your presentation! PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!!
You will receive a grade on this presentation out of 100 points.
A copy of your power point presentation AND your proposal must be handed in or emailed to
teacher on this date! No exceptions or excuses!
 Late work will receive a 5 point deduction per day.
