Prep Consortium
South Harrison R-II High School senior Katelyn Addison was recently recognized as
Student of the Year by the North Missouri Tech Prep Consortium, which is based at
North Central Missouri College in Trenton. She was selected on the basis of her
commitment to career and technical education, academic achievement, involvement in
school or community activities, leadership abilities, and her involvement in career and
technical education organizations.
Katelyn, the daughter of Cliff and Paula Addison of Bethany, was nominated by her
instructor, Kelly Hodge of the North Central Career Center in Bethany, where she is
enrolled in the Business Education program. Ms. Addison plans to attend the University
of Missouri - Columbia and major in Business. In her nomination, Ms. Hodge noted,
“Katelyn’s unique creativity and talent has been an asset to our organization and the
business department here at the North Central Career Center.”
Ms. Addison is currently serving as the Vice President of her Future Business Leaders
of America chapter and is a member of the Future Teachers of America. She also
serves as Student Council President and is the Vice President of her National Honor
Society chapter. In addition to placing in a number of FBLA contests, she has earned
academic all-conference awards and has been on the High Honor Roll since her

As the Tech Prep Consortium’s Student of the Year, Katelyn was awarded a certificate
of accomplishment during a recent reception at the Missouri State Capitol. She will also
receive a $350 scholarship from North Central Missouri College in Trenton.
The Tech Prep program offers students a way to save money and time completing an
Associate in Applied Science degree or career certificate. Students can earn the
equivalent of free college credit by participating in an articulated program of career and
technical education classes while attending high school or an area technical school or
career center. North Central Career Center in Bethany provides technical career
education in a variety of disciplines and is a key technical education partner with North
Central Missouri College. For additional information on the Tech Prep program, contact
