What is a Guidance Counselor?
Today’s Guidance Counselor is a highly
trained mental health professional who
must hold a Master’s Degree in order to
work in a New York State public school.
They are dedicated, caring individuals
who are experts in how children and
adolescents grow and change, especially
in the way they think, solve problems and make decisions. They are
your child’s first line of defense – their GO TO person – for any concern
or issue during their years at H. Frank Carey. Teachers may change, but
your child’s Guidance Counselor will remain a steady source of support
for your child and a constant resource for your family.
