My name is Soon Yee, I come from Malaysia, I am a PhD student at the department
of Chemical and Environmental Engineering. I was awarded the Dean of Engineering
International research Scholarship that covers all the tuition fees and a living stipend
of 700 pounds a month for 3 years. I found out about the scholarship when I visited
the International Office scholarship website. And there will find all the information of
all the scholarships that the international office offers. The Graduate School also
offers some travel prizes and travel scholarships for research students to apply for.
My advice to applicant for the scholarship would be take note of the deadlines and
also to secure an offer before applying for the scholarship. And they have to answer
a few questions, they have to confidently think what they want to do after the
completion of the postgraduate course, even before they started. And they have to
assess what would the benefit of the scholarship to them in person and also to the
society, especially the background where they come from.
