Added stressors:

Due to the growing number of teens and
young adults with Intellectual Disabilities,
SCs must prepare for transition into the
community and workforce. This challenge
is further complicated by the fact that
there is a lack of funding available to
provide the necessary supports. This
often leaves those who graduate sitting at
home watching television.

61% of CMP DS consumers are 30 years of age and under.
In F.Y. 09/10, CMP had 61new intakes.
The Waiting List
The counties estimate that there are
approximately 1,600 people who will
present as unanticipated emergencies in
the next 6 months, this includes graduates
from the special education system and
children leaving the CYS RTF settings
 It is estimated by the PA waiting list
campaign that there are over 16,000
people waiting for services

