MEET AND CONFER – APRIL 13, 2011 Attendance: Nancy E, Jay P, Andy B, Lynn J, Molly, Mary W, Marla, Michelle, Duane, Steph, Loralyn, Kerry, Lisa, Margie, Bill, Linda Search Updates: Director IPC – Search Advisory committee rewview Trio SSS (IFO) – VP Erwin review recommendations Upward Bound Academic Coordinator – Reviewing Asst. Dir. Athletic – Post until April 25 Asst. Registrar – Neo Gov review to budget office next week? Then management mentioned that we only need to be informed of ASF openings not other bargaining units. Carryforward Policy – we had submitted a response to Lisa Our main point was – “seeming inequality of only taking from people who had some left in Fiscal 10”. That is the only people who have it. – they went where the money is. Expect a similar policy for FY11 – “it may…” Question? – have the x-y on the policy been set yet Ans: “no” IFO has not submitted their response yet If have a plan to use funds, there will be an opportunity to submit a form, form is currently not made up, but would include the following: department, cost center, what plans etc. Fiscal 10 tax – has it been transferred out of accounts? “yes”. Did we get the proposed 1.2 million - “yes” They stated they would resend the final excel document, with updated amounts, as there were some changes because of groups. (See CF Final Tax document as bullet under April 13, 2011 minutes) 3. Additional Academic Program Closures Has been to admissions and Michelle, (proposed), we encouraged more communication to offices that may not have obvious need to know, but probably a peripheral need. 4. Higher Ed Funding in Legislature Further discussion was had (see previous legislative updates for finite details), We encourage membership to help legislature understand that the impact of cuts not only the university but the local economy as well. There is a bill on tuition caps. Again, the thought is that Tuition caps should be able to be negotiated not dictated by lawmakers. Same with pay freeze. Overall, depending on the final allocations, we have planned and “should be good with the budget cuts that have been made (or are still in process)”
