Political Science Scholarships
E.. James Cecil Scholarship
The E. James Cecil Scholarship is awarded to a political science major. To be eligible a
student must have a minimum GPA of 3.25.
Capitol Internship Scholarship
The Capitol Internship Scholarship is for a political science or social studies student who
participates in an internship at the state capitol in St. Paul or in Washington D.C.
James and Marilyn Heltzer Scholarship
The James and Marilyn Heltzer Scholarship in Political Science is awarded to a graduate
of Bemidji High School majoring in political science with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
Bemidji Area League of Women Voters – Dr. Mable Parker and Dr. Ruth Brune Mangelsdorf
Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. Mable Parker and Dr. Ruth Brune Mangelsdorf Memorial Scholarship is awarded
to a junior or senior BSU student in political science. A 3.00 GPA is required.
Secondary consideration is given to social studies students. Preference is given to
women applicants.
Bemidji Area League of Women Voters – Hazel Shimmin Memorial Scholarship
The Hazel Shimmin Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior BSU student
in political science.. A 3.00 GPA is required. Secondary consideration is given to a
