ITEMS STANDING AGENDA ITEM Weekend events went well, startup went well, thanks to Bucky’s guide service volunteer, convocation was well attended, faculty are ready to get going on projects, Memorial Hall is open for business. 3. EVENTS STANDING AGENDA ITEM What is coming up that we will be attending? Share the responsibility of representation. 4. OTHER UNIVERSITY COMMITTEE’S ATTACHMENT 1 MARTIN Reviewed membership of University committees and filled in openings. 5. HIGH IMPACT LEARNING SHAWN CBTC push for the year – shared information from the University of Utah. Many of the things we already do, but packaged into a student engagement experience. Examples of high impact learning. Chairs will share inventory of what was done last year and set some goals for this year. Need to be deliberate. Get CPD involved. Could also be incorporated into Gardner Institute. 6. CHAIR EXCHANGE TROY Would it be helpful to have department chairs attend meetings in other departments? Could be a good way to share information about what is happening in other areas. Also have academic chairs attend directors meetings from Student Success and Student Support Services. How to make this useful without just adding more meetings? May need some direction or sharing of agendas to facilitate beneficial conversations and to assist with scheduling. Will review at next meeting. 7. CIVILITY MARTIN There were some concerns about some of the conversations between faculty and the architects last week. Need to explore options for addressing some of the negativity on campus – there is a lot of change happening right now. 8. AA DEGREES AT BSU MARTIN Michelle will follow up on this for next time. 9. RESOURCES AND CURRICULUM CHANGES COLLEEN Conversation about curriculum change documents and need for evidence that it can be supported. Proposals require proof of resources. Does this support the Master Academic Plan? Will be receiving budget numbers for FY17 soon. Will require a longer look at faculty hires for the next year. 10.
