INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH UPDATE
DOUG OLNEY
Working on cost study for departments – will send out later today. Needs it back next week.
Discussion on how to calculate the percentage of instructional cost of total budget. Handled differently
from campus to campus. Request for enrollment reports by major, delivery method for fall. Program
indicators are available for programs.

GOOD NEWS AND WOW! ITEMS
STANDING AGENDA ITEM
Angie Gora’s NAASS award – Ojibwe language camp. Jen Theisen will be meeting with Chelsea
Clinton, related to her work with “Girls who Code”.

EVENTS

December 4 Madrigal dinner invitation. A number of musical events in December. Dec 8 signing at
North Hennepin CC Biology partnership.

COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING – SCOTT FAUST

Continuing with the departmental brochure effort. Would like to have one for every program.
Working on a RFP for a digital marketing campaign. Interested in pulling together program specific
open houses at NTC.

UNIVERSITY SCHOLAR QUESTIONS – ARTICLE 11, SECTION N CARRY OVER

Randy will develop a process for nomination for review and approval, to take to next meet and confer.

BUDGET FORUM / POSITION PLANNING

Reviewed plans for filling vacancies, including sabbatical replacements. Schedule to fill will go to
meet and confer. Discussed the plan for holding carry forwards – will move them into a holding
account.

Reviewed guidelines in general and as the impact the planning for the ALC. Discussion of allowing
faculty to indicate preferred classrooms? Would need to allow more time for optimization processes
to be run once schedule is created. Plan to present to Jan meet and confer.
