Approaches of Value Inculcation Direct Approach- inculcated through curriculum/class room instruction Indirect Approach – inculcated through plays/movies/stories/ incidents. Mahatma Gandhi inculcated Truthfulness by watching Harichandra Katha Incidental Approach is the most effective approach A person inculcates certain values through his/her real life experiences. Ex- A student becoming punctual after missing an exam due to late coming Inculcation of values happens incidentally. Process of Value Inculcation Step I – Being sensitive (a person should be sensitive enough to react to a situation) Step II – Identifying the appropriate values Step III – Internalizing the values ( fixing up of values deep in the mind) Step IV – Practicing the values (toughest part of the process) Writing an essay …. Allot a rough column Jot down all the points that strike your mind Convert the most relevant points into Subtitles. (an essay could have 3 to5 sub titles) Based on these points write the introductory paragraph… Make paragraph division visible by leaving double line space Each paragraph should open with an idea and the subsequent sentences should support the idea. Summarize all your ideas in the conclusion Don’t end an essay with a negative note Don’t express controversial opinions Writing an essay …. Your essay should open with the definition The definition should be elaborated with illustrations Illustrations include: Real life incidents/historical references/ Moral stories/quotations/Paraphrasing of quotations Read and edit your answers before submission.
