After teaching several years at London School of Economics, he’ll be an Assistant Professor at Brown on his arrival in the summer of 2016. Michaillat’s research has focused on a variety of topics related to unemployment, and he will teach undergraduate intermediate macroeconomics during his first year at Brown. New Ph.D.’s embark on careers as incoming graduate class takes shape June 15, 2016 Fifteen students completing their Ph.D. degrees this year have accepted offers obtained in this year’s job market, while seventeen applicants who were offered places in it have accepted admission into the graduate program of Brown’s Economics Department. Graduating students are launching their careers with positions at U.S. and foreign universities, and in government and industry. Department congratulates 214 undergraduate degree recipients June 13, 2016 At Brown’s 248th Commencement, which took place Sunday, May 29, 2016, Brown’s Economics Department awarded more than two hundred degrees in Economics and its joint concentrations with Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, and Computer Science. 150 students earned the AB in Economics, 51 earned the AB or BSc in Applied Mathematics – Economics, 9 earned degrees in Computer Science – Economics, and 4 in Mathematics – Economics. Undergraduate Teaching Assistants win Baker and Emery Fellowships May 17, 2016 Two graduating senior concentrators, Mira Dumbalska and Sukrit Jain, have been selected to receive the Baker and Emory Fellowships in support of their graduate studies.
