92nd Convocation of BHU on 07 March, 2010
Varanasi (05 March,2010). The 92nd Convocation of Banaras Hindu
University will be held on 7th March, 2010 at the Amphitheatre Ground
of BHU. The Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Shri
Kapil Sibal will be the Chief Guest of the Function and will deliver the
Convocation Address. The Chancellor of the University, Dr. Karan
Singh will preside over the function.
During the Convocation, total 27 Medals will be awarded to the
students. Out of these, Km. Akansha Jain of Faculty of Science will be
awarded the Chancellors’ Medal for standing first in the Post Graduate
M.A./M.Sc. Examination, 2009 and the BHU Medal for standing first in
the M.Sc.- Applied Microbiology Examination 2009. The complete list
of Medals is enclosed. In this way, total 407 Medals and prizes will be
awarded.
During the course of Convocation, 6,743 degrees will be awarded in
total, out of which, 4,334 will be of graduation, 2,128 of Post
Graduation and 281 of Ph.D level. Out of the total degrees, there will be
189 degrees of Agricultural Sciences, 75 degrees of Ayurveda, 2
degrees of Dental Sciences, 156 degrees of Faculty of Medicine, 572
degrees of Engineering & Technology, 1887 of Arts, 90 of Performing
Arts, 89 of Visual Arts, 501 of Commerce, 576 of Education, 268 of
Law, 105 of Management Studies, 988 of Science, 1164 of Social
Sciences, and 81 degrees of Sanskrit Vidya Dharm Vigyan, which will
be awarded during the Convocation. The Faculty wise list of degrees is
enclosed.
