ASIABOUND SCHOLARSHIPS 2014 - APPLICATION FORM
FIRST ROUND APPLICATIONS CLOSE FRIDAY, 1ST NOVEMBER 2013
The UTAS Tasmanian School of Business and Economics is providing 10 Asiabound Scholarships (Semester
Subsidies) to assist students who wish to undertake a semester of study in the Bachelor of Business degree in
Shanghai, China.
The Asiabound Program is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Industry, Innovation,
Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIICCSRTE) that will support Australian students
participating in study experiences in Asia as part of their degree or qualification. This advances the
Government’s commitment to support Australians becoming Asia-literate in the Asian Century.
The aims of the Program are to:
 increase the overall number of students with an international mobility experience related to their field of
study by addressing some of the barriers, including financial, to student mobility;
 assist institutions that are seeking to diversify their programs to include innovative options, minority
groups and/or non-traditional destinations; and
 increase collaboration between higher education institutions in Australia and participating institutions or
organisations overseas
AVAILABLE FUNDING
Scholarships (Semester Subsidies) for travel and accommodation: $5,000.

attempt will be made to pay successful applicants at least 2 weeks prior to the commencement of their
elective program.
