undertake study in Shanghai, China in 2014. These scholarships are each worth AUD$5000 and are
available to assist students who wish to enhance their skills, expertise and potential employment
prospects by experiencing a semester of study at the AIEN Institute of Shanghai Ocean University.

Students who choose to study during semester 1 at AIEN Institute will find that it runs at roughly the
same time as our semester 1 onshore. Students who choose to study during semester 5 will find
that it starts much later than our onshore semester 2 (early September). Students may elect to use
the intervening time as an opportunity to travel and experience more of China before they begin
their studies at AIEN Institute. While semester 5 starts later than it does onshore, students will still
have time to return to Tasmania ready to commence their next semester of study at UTAS.
