Create your own country
You will all be making your own country for the 4th nine-week project. For this project you will:
- Pick a form of government
- Make a constitution
- Deal with foreseeable problems with countries that surround your country along with the period of
time that you have picked.
- Descriptions and products of your major industry and resource.
- Design a flag
- Name of the country
- Map of your country and its surrounding countries
- BONUS!!! Bring in a local food of your country (Include a list of ingredients)
You will be assigned an area of the world along with a decade that your country was created. These
countries and the dates given to you will help you form your new country. This country needs to take into
consideration the countries that surround it and how they are going to deal with the problems that are happening
to their area of the world during the decade. For example if you are given a country that shares a border with
Iraq with the dates 2000-2010, you will have to address the idea of supporting the U.S. in their war or
defending Iraq in the war, and state why. As you see there will have to be research done on the time period and
the country that you are given; these details will help you form your country. We have studied many of the
areas and many different governments, if you receive a time period that we have not studied you will have to
look ahead in the book for help.
What is needed:
1. Create a poster which contains
o flag, name, form of government, map, and industry/resource
2. Constitution paper
o needs to be 2 pages
o double spaced, font times new roman, size 12
 This should include the form of government and why you decided on this form.
 Can be in bullets (each bullet must at least have 2 sentences)
3. Problems paper
o needs to be 2 pages
o double spaced, font times new roman, size 12
 2 pages on the problems/wars/controversies/etc that are happening around your
country and how the country will deal with these problems
 Has to be in complete sentences, NO BULLETS
- The day the project is due you can bring in a local food and we will learn about everyone’s country
while enjoying their local food.
