COURSE DESCRIPTION The GED Math Prep Curriculum is designed for students who are over-age and are behind in earning the required number of units to graduate from high school with a South Carolina High School Diploma. These classes allow participating students who are genuinely interested in working on their skills to pass the mathematics portion of the GED test and earn a General Equivalency Diploma and move on to the next step after high school. Since participants in these classes are older and more mature, they are expected to come into class each day and actively work toward completing this program as soon as possible. Students must pay a fee and be at least 17 years of age to take the formal GED exam. B. ORGANIZATION GED Math Prep is an individual study using computer based learning. Students will take a pretest and then work on skills that need to be improved in order to pass the mathematics portion of the GED test. Pretesting – Within one week of enrollment in the GED class, students must complete the Pre-GED testing in each subject area tested on the GED. Students will be tested again at midterm and then at the end of the year. If at any of these test administrations, you test ready for the formal testing, you are a minimum of 17 years old, your progress will be reported to Ms. Collins and she will assist you in registering to take the actual GED test at an official testing site.
