Dear {Cooperating Teacher},
Thank you for your willingness to work with an Exploration in Education teacher
candidate. This is the first field experience for many of our students, and they are
excited to meet you and your students.
The Exploration in Education teacher candidate will be in your classroom from the
week of February 15th through May 3rd. If a teacher candidate cannot make it to
class, they are instructed to make contact with you prior to the absence. They will
be required to make up that scheduled time.
I have attached a copy of the Mid-Term and Final Evaluations for you to complete
at the designated times. The due dates are listed at the beginning of each evaluation.
Please go over the evaluations with the teacher candidate, and he/she will return the
completed forms to me at Pittsburg State University. I realize your teacher
candidate may not have the opportunity to meet all of the behaviors. If this occurs,
please mark NA next to the behavior. I have also included a list of expectations for
both you and the candidate.
I hope this experience will be positive for you, your students, and the teacher
