2.8 Examples of Changes Resulting from Analysis of Assessment Data
Data collected from the Unit Assessment System includes information gathered through unit
assessments and specific program assessments. This information is reviewed regularly at both
the unit and program levels and is used for making I nstructional decisions to improve candidate
performance, effectiveness of programs, and unit operations. Analysis of unit and program
assessment data has resulted in several changes at both the unit and program level. To view
specific changes by program, refer to Section V of the individual Program Reports available at
the KSDE Document Warehouse. Below is a summary of changes that have occurred as direct
result of the analysis of unit and program assessment data.
Program Level Changes Resulting from Unit Assessment Data
 Revision of course content to incorporate current trends and practices, based on followup studies of program completers and employers
 Revision of programs of study, course offerings, and sequencing of courses, based on
follow-up studies of program completers and advisement surveys
 Revision of program/courses to include additional field experiences, based on follow-up
studies of program completers
 Revision of programs/courses to include additional use of technology, based on follow-up
studies of program completers and employers
 Revision of programs/course to include additional content/experiences associated with
meeting the needs of diverse learners, based on follow-up studies of program completers
and employers

 Revision of course content to better align with KSDE Program Standards
 Revision of course content/delivery to enhance candidate performance
 Revision of course offerings to better align with KSDE Program Standards
 Revision of program assessments to better align with KSDE Program Standards
 Revision of program assessment rubrics to provide more meaningful data in relation to
program standards
 Revision of course content and course offerings to better prepare candidates for licensure
exams
 Revision of course content and course offerings to include additional use of technology in
order to better align with components of KSDE program standards

 Faculty professional development opportunities for using the ANGEL Learning System
to supplement course delivery and improve student communications based on faculty
evaluations and follow-up studies of program completers
 Faculty professional development opportunities related to integrating technology, based
on faculty evaluations, exit surveys, and follow-up studies of program completers
 Faculty professional development opportunities related to advising candidates, based on
data from advisement surveys
 Development of the GUS Electronic Tracking System, based on discussions with
university supervisors and cooperating teachers related to data collection for the
evaluation of the CF Knowledge Base
