What’s Your Style Combination?
Most people are a combination of styles. Above left is a “box-circle” and above right is a “circle
squiggle.” That means that the box-circle’s most dominant traits are box-like with circle
characteristics (the smaller shape inside the box), and the circle squiggle is a dominant circle with
squiggle characteristics.
Have you taken statistics yet? This is a very quick and simple non-validated or reliable inventory
(results are not “statistically significant”), but it provides easy language and images with which
you can describe personality traits. It is an introduction to the concept that your specific
personality style tends to match some careers better than others.
You have a unique combination of skills and strengths as well as some weaknesses that probably
cause you some trouble now and then. For a more in-depth personality style diagnosis and career
analysis visit our Career Services webpage and talk to a career counselor. They can offer
additional inventories, career tests, and connect you to specific career information that will help
you choose and explore appropriate careers. http://willamette.edu/offices/careers
Note:
Take a few minutes to click around in the O’net where the careers are linked and described. The
point of this exercise is to get you to explore. Read about careers you haven’t thought of, or
clarify ones you know something about.
