This program includes a scholarship of between $1250-$2500 (depending on their need) per year for the participant’s first two years in college. In return, these students will be expected to participate in a 2 year leadership program. The participants applied for this scholarship while they were seniors in high school. Their involvement in high school and an on-campus interview assisted the university in narrowing down our pool to 25 participants. The first component (semester) will be a similar experience to the MSU Emerging Leaders program. We anticipate the participants will not only walk away with invaluable experiences, but friendships and connections that will continue throughout their collegiate experience and beyond. Centennial Leaders Facilitators will facilitate the 5 sessions throughout the fall 2015 semester. We will also have one session devoted to an afternoon retreat off-campus that will be facilitated partly by professional staff and partly by Centennial Leaders facilitators on Sunday, August 30th. Each session will take place on every other Monday evening from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Facilitators will be required to attend each session and be present 30 minutes before and after each session. The facilitator team will also have a separate training before the program begins to review expectations and what the sessions will consist of throughout the semester. This training will be determined based upon the schedule of the chosen facilitators. Benefits of being a Centennial Leaders Facilitator: Facilitators will gain hands on leadership experience and the invaluable skills needed to facilitate. They will have the opportunity to experience a high and low ropes course with all expenses paid, and it is our hope that facilitators will leave a lasting impression on the MSU campus. Their efforts will have a significant and very positive impact on the leadership of our student organizations.
