Advisor’s Meeting

Alpha Chi Omega House Tour: Thank you to Alpha Chi Omega and also Mrs. Diane for a tour of
the house!
Advisors Present: Shari Lockhart (ADPI), Mike Wood (Theta Chi), Deb Clary (Alpha Sigma Alpha),
Debbie Letterman (Gamma Phi Beta), Megan Akert (PHA President), and Andrew Schussler (IFC
President)
Speaker: Maggie Brandt, Assistant Director of Co-Curricular Involvement, Missouri State
University. Topic: Officer Transition – Advisor Style! Handouts are available on our website at

Transition: Most groups are doing binder exchanges and also a retreat. If you need resources,
please let me know!
New Advisor Manual: Next semester, you won’t see a binder!! You all will be getting a CD with
your manual on it. The manual will also be online and there will be hyperlinks to help direct you
to different resources/ forms. I am really trying to go green next semester!
New Presidents: If you are starting to hear of new Presidents, please make sure that they
contact me. I would like to sit down with each of them individually to get to know each other.
President’s Retreat: Each President will be attending a retreat on January 9th-10th at Kimberling
Inn. Anything you want to include in their training? Some suggestions included providing them
with information about resource on campus. Where to go when you need help!
IFC /PHA/ NPHC Elections: Elections are taking place! Slate is attached!
 IFC Elections: Monday, November 16th and 23rd
o Important information!!: There was an error in the way that IFC slated for
their elections so the chapter presidents will be meeting this Friday,
November 20th to discuss how to make the situation right. While there
were elections that took place on Monday the 16th, that outcome might
change. I will keep you posted on the latest information when we get
new officers!!
 PHA Elections: Wednesday, November 18th
o Important information: Slate was approved!! I have highlighted the newly
elected officers below! Make sure to congratulate them!
 NPHC Elections: Not taking place this semester
o Important information: NPHC decided to conduct elections after
Thanksgiving!
IFC and PHA Retreat: Both councils will be attending a retreat on January 8th- 9th at Kimberling
Inn. Anything you want me to include in their training?
Presidents’ Meeting: Presidents’ meetings will take place on the 1st Tuesday of every month at
5:30pm. The dates are as follows: February 2nd, March 3rd, April 6th, and May 4th (if needed).
Out of the office: I will be out of the office at the Association for Fraternity Advisors Annual
Meeting from December 3rd- December 10th and will not be responding to emails.
Additionally, I will be out of the office to celebrate the holidays from December 24 th- January
4th.
End of Semester Grades: Not sure what this will look like because of Banner
Upcoming Advisor Meetings: I have listened to your feedback and hopefully (crossing my
fingers) come up with something that might work. At the very least, we are going to try it out!!!
I heard from you all that different people liked different things so we are going to change it up
and mix some of those different things that you all liked!
