DEGREE AUDIT AND GRADUATION PLAN
(with next semester’s class schedule)
For this you will have to narrow your search down to one major—the one you have now or the one you plan to declare. If
you have a minor or are double-majoring, include these areas as well. (Example: My “declared” undergraduate degree was
a B.A. in Creative Writing/English with minors in International Management, Technical Writing, and Spanish.)
Degree Audit
If your major has yet to be declared, make a “What-If” Degree Audit with the major(s) that you have chosen. If you need
to create a Degree Audit for your already declared major, still follow the directions below and refer to the bolded portion
of step 5 only.
1. Login with your information to your MyMissouriState site.
2. Click on the Academics tab.
3. In the far left column, select Degree Audit (under student records).
4. Then select Submit an Audit.
5. Select the “What-if?” button under What-if analysis. (If you were doing a regular audit of your
declared major then you would just click “Run Audit” next to Select Degree Program—keep
“Latest (all)” and “List All Requirements” as they are).
6. Select a College, Degree, Major, and Current Term.
7. Then select Run Audit.
Graduation Plan (4-year plan)
Based on your degree audit, create a 4-year Graduation plan and type it up. You can view sample 4-year Graduation plans
for almost ALL majors at MissouriState.edu. Just type in “Four-year” into the Missouri State site search bar. Your 4-year
plan should look similar to one of those examples (if you simply hand out the premade 4-year plan, you will receive a
zero). It should include the following:




Each semester labeled clearly
Course Code (e.g., GEP), number (e.g., 110), and name (e.g., First Year Foundations), followed by how
many credit hours the class is (e.g., 2).
At the end of each semester list the total credit hours you will be taking for that semester (e.g., 15)
At the bottom of the page, include a line with the total number of credit hours you will earn by
following this plan. (You are required to complete a minimum of 125 hours to graduate.)
Next Semester’s Class Schedule
Include this with your graduation plan. You can use the “Trial Schedule Builder” tool under your MyMissouriState
Academics page. It should be in the far right column under Registration Tools.
Submission:
You have two ways you can submit this: you can either bring this to class on the due date and turn it in to me, or you can
submit a complete screenshot/PDF/.doc/.docx of your Degree Audit and Graduation plan through Blackboard by
11:59pm of the due date. If you do decide to submit the assignment through Blackboard then you have to include every
page of your Degree Audit and Graduation plan, and it has to be completely legible.
Grading:
Your grade for this assignment will be based upon completeness, neatness, and turning it in on time.
