A PROJECT DESCRIPTION / LOCATION The scope of work for this project involves the installation of new self priming floor drains, toilets, toilet partitions, urinals, faucets and painting in the 3rd floor restrooms. Acoustical ceiling removal and re-installation will be required in the 2nd floor offices and lab space to provide access for the plumbing rough-in work. This work shall be performed by the general contractor under contract with Wesleyan. The scope of work for this project also involves the installation of a new waterproofing liquid membrane flooring system in the 3rd floor restrooms. This work will be completed by Coverall Floors Corp. (flooring contractor) and will be under contract directly with Wesleyan. The general contractor will be required to coordinate all work with the flooring contractor and the owner. All plumbing rough-in, fixture installation and finishes shall be scheduled as required to accommodate the epoxy floor system installation. Documents will not be provided at the pre-bid. Contractors are required to bring a flash drive or CD if they would like copies of available AutoCAD drawings. All additional site visits shall be arranged through the Construction Services office and are encouraged. Bidders are required to become fully aware of existing conditions. Bidders that do not attend the prebid conference will be disqualified from bidding. BID SUBMISSION/CONTRACTOR AWARD: SEALED bids will be accepted at the facilities office, 170 Long Lane, Middletown, CT 06457 on the date noted above, at which time they will be opened privately. All bids must be forwarded to the attention of Roseann Sillasen. Bids submitted after this date and time may be rejected at the sole discretion of the University. The successful bidders will be notified in writing and will be required to attend a scope review and pre-award conference at which time the bidder’s bid will be reviewed. The University may conduct a scope review with other responsive bidders. The University reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid, and to waive any informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interests of Wesleyan University. BID QUESTIONS: All VALID bid questions must be submitted by email or in writing to Roseann Sillasen, rsillasen@wesleyan.edu at the facilities office, fax (860) 685–3101. Bid questions will not be accepted beyond 12:00 PM on May 22, 2013. All bid questions and responses will be distributed to all bidders. SPECIAL NOTICE TO BIDDERS: 1.
