Strong program Statements clearly reflect the goals and values of the GIF program as
indicated in its constitution, bylaws, and web pages, and present a compelling vision for
the future. Please ensure your program statement also answers the following questions:
●
●
●
●
●
Briefly explain your project (include scope and other details relevant to your idea)
Why are you interested in doing this project?
What will change when the project is completed?
What will happen if Willamette doesn't complete this project successfully?
What are the benefits of doing this project for Willamette University, and students
in particular?
● What will the university need to do differently once this project has been
completed?
Special Equipment and/or Hazardous Materials
Does the project contain/involve equipment or hazardous materials that require special
attention? If so please detail and describe.
Are there unusual circumstances or issues that need to be accommodated
to accomplish this project? If so please describe.
Benefit for WU Undergraduate Students
Benefit to undergraduate students is important to the GIF committee because
undergraduate student fees fund the GIF program. Provide an estimated number of
students your project will engage and/or benefit for each “level of student engagement”
on the GIF “how to apply” web page (i.e., administrative leader, coordinator, student
worker, student volunteer, experiential learner).
Project Timeline
Mini-Grant funds are intended to be allocated to timely projects that are completed
during the same academic year funds are awarded. Describe the timeline for your
project including kick-off and completion. Be as specific as possible, and indicate if/how
the timeline is flexible or not.
Project Budget
Total funds requested:
The GIF committee will consider proposals with budgets ranging between $500-$2,000.
Complete mini-grant proposals include a budget correctly using the excel budget
spreadsheet provided on the GIF “How to Apply” web page. Budgets should include
other sources of funding (in-kind and financial) not requested of the GIF Committee but
essential to the project. (Proposals that do not include a budget spreadsheet may not be
considered for funding.)
Additional Comments
In 100 words or less, please provide additional information that you would like the GIF
Committee to consider when reviewing your proposal.
