Sampling method
ESRI – initial set of sampling areas from geodirectory. Initial sample of areas was
then employed to generate a random telephone sample using random digit dialling.
The completed sample was re-weighted to represent the population.
MB – use random number generation. Numbers generated per telephone region.
Quotas are set on age, gender, region and social class. The data are weighted as they
open quotas at 800 interviews to facilitate survey completion. Gender quota are
maintained throughout.
