Question 1 (Liberal studies, S.6)

100 years. Also, the Three Gorges Hydropower Station will generate electricity to a total capacity of 18.2 million KW. The electricity will be mainly provided to central and east China and east Sichuan

Province. Besides, the navigation conditions of the Chongqing-

Yichang section of the Changjiang River can be improved. The navigation channel will be widened, so that 10000-ton boats can reach Chongqing directly. This improvement of transportation will promote the development of tourism. Moreover, after the dam is constructed, there will be an extra 700 cubic square kilometers of water surface.
