Revised 10-2013 Standards of Performance for Child Development Center Coordinator 1. The coordinator establishes a center environment that promotes learning for all children under his/her responsibility, taking into account individual needs of both children and staff. 2. The coordinator treats children, families, and co-workers with respect, demonstrating a willingness to work with a diverse group of individuals. 3. The coordinator maintains a center that is clean, well-organized, and developmentally appropriate to the appropriate age groups served. 4. The coordinator maintains standards, has knowledge of and follows institutional policies and practices set forth by the State of California, Community Care Licensing and the Department of Education, the Child Nutrition Program, the college, and any other outside source. 5. The coordinator demonstrates subject matter expertise, including the growth and development of children. 6. The coordinator is proficient at developing goals and objectives, works independently, and completes work in a timely manner. 7. The coordinator communicates in a clear, informative, and professional manner. 8. The coordinator maintains an environment that meets ECERS and ITERS standards. 9. The coordinator maintains a positive work environment with open communication and is able to make decisions regarding policies and procedures at the center with staff, families, and children. 10. The coordinator fulfills the contractual requirements of the position. 11. The coordinator maintains staff and child schedules and center budgets in order to provide high quality care within the restraints of the budget. 12. The coordinator demonstrates and supports continued professional growth by participation in professional development activities. 13. The coordinator demonstrates commitment to the Center, College, and to education by service to the center and college as a whole.
