The Joint European Master’s in International Migration and Social Cohesion (MISOCO) is a two-year international
Master's with the support of the Erasmus Mundus programme of the European Union which offers students the unique
opportunity to study international migration in three European countries.
About the programme
Students will study in three European countries. The first year is undertaken at two core institutes: the University of
Amsterdam (1st semester) and the University of Deusto (2nd semester), both offering consolidated expertise in
theoretical and methodological approaches to migration studies.
The second year is used for specialization at one of the other European institutes. The University College Dublin,
University of Latvia or University of Osnabrück will provide students with focused teaching and research in their
specialised areas under the supervision of leading experts.
Requirements
MISOCO seeks students with an academic bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a social sciences discipline closely
related to the programme (sociology, social/cultural anthropology, political science and (human) geography). Students
with degrees in International Relations or International Development and/or have at least 60 EC in Social Sciences
Methodology and Theory may also apply. Students are selected on their qualifications with the possibility of an
Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.
