Function Chart of CDS in WebSAMS
Upon successful installation of WebSAMS 3.0, school WebSAMS is required to perform registration before general message transmission can be operated.

Users can access their own as well as other Outgoing Messages depending on the access rights granted in Security Module.

All outgoing messages have to be encrypted with a valid School Key that is only kept by authorized users before sending to EDB or HKEAA.
 Add new message; Modify or encrypt message in “Ready” status; Search messages.
 Select multiple messages to delete or archive .
 Resend message in “Sent”, “Send Fail” or “Received” status.


There will only be a CDS Log for a certain day when transmission has been triggered at least once on that day.

An outgoing message with WebSAMS version number and SCRN information will be created.

Encrypt the “SCRN, WebSAMS Version” message with School Key before sending to EDB.

Message prepa red in “Maintain Message” tab, generated by “Data Comm.” in other WebSAMS modules or from “Upload Data” tab can be processed here.

Upload Data” is an alternative to prepare data files for “Data Comm.” of various WebSAMS modules. It allows users to upload data file(s) created from school’s own application or other sources.

Users can reject message prepared in other modules or in “Upload Data” function.

Predefined Interface Files generated by “Data Comm.” can be viewed in RAW ,
TABULAR and/or REPORT format that vary across different data files.

When a user encrypts and sends a message, a backend transmission is triggered. After which the user can check the progress and message status a few minutes later.
