"My Pledge to Act — Love Our Home and Clean Hong Kong" 2015 Speech by School Principal (For Kindergartens) Dear fellow teachers and children, Today is of great significance. In addition to the beginning of the new school year, it is our school’s “My Pledge to Act — Love Our Home and Clean Hong Kong” Pledge Day. To “pledge” is for someone to promise others to do something and do their utmost to finish it. In our daily lives, poor hygiene easily causes diseases. If you get sick, you cannot go to school to learn and play with other children. So paying attention to cleanliness is very important. Children, at home or at school, your parents or teachers will teach you to establish good habits: wash your hands before eating; when sneezing, use a tissue; maintain personal hygiene. If you have not paid attention to cleanliness, you may start from today through “My Pledge to Act 2015” to renew your attention to cleanliness. In addition, we also need to care for our family members, teachers and schoolmates, paying attention to domestic and school hygiene. For example, have you ever put your garbage around, and let your parents, domestic helpers or janitors take care of it for you? If you have not taken good care of your family, teachers and schoolmates, nor paid close attention to hygiene at home and school, start to keep home and school clean today through “My Pledge to Act 2015”. In fact, it is not adequate to simply care for personal, domestic and school hygiene for us living in Hong Kong. If Hong Kong's environment is unhygienic, we will easily contract diseases. Today, I expect each student to love yourself, you family, teachers and schoolmates; through “My Pledge to Act 2015”, to make a pledge for the cleanliness of yourself, your family, school, and Hong Kong, and try your best to fulfill it by paying attention to hygiene, making your home, school and Hong Kong more hygienic! If each of us can do it, people living in this place will be healthier, and have a better life! Finally, I wish you all perfectly healthy! Thank you!
