Course Title: Topics in Historic Preservation

I. Catalogue Description and Credit Hours
Examination of specialized topics or issues in historic preservation. (3 hours)
II. Prerequisite(s)
None
III. Purposes or Objectives of Course
A. To provide historic preservation students the opportunity to study topics not included in the
regular historic preservation curriculum. Specific course objectives will vary from semester
to semester and from instructor to instructor, depending upon the topic being addressed.
IV. Expectations of Students
A. Students are expected to attend class and actively participate in class discussions,
presentations, and course projects. Students will be expected to complete assignments as
described in the course outline. Graduate students will have additional requirements.

To be determined by instructor. Individual course outlines will be
presented in advance for departmental approval.

Will be determined by the instructor who prepares the topics course proposal.
VII. Basis for Student Evaluation
Specific criteria for student evaluation will be determined by the instructor who prepares the
topics course proposal. The weight of evaluation criteria and percentage for grades may
vary at the discretion of the instructor and will be indicated at the beginning of each
course. Graduate students will have additional requirements beyond the requirements of
undergraduate students. The different requirements for both undergraduate and graduate
students will be indicated at the beginning of each course.

A= 90-100%
B= 80-89%
C=70-79%
D=60-69%

VIII. Academic Policy Statement
The Undergraduate Bulletin defines academic dishonesty as “…those acts which would deceive,
cheat, or defraud so as to promote one’s scholastic record…”, and states that “[v]iolations of
academic honesty represent a serious breech of discipline and may be considered grounds for
disciplinary action, including dismissal from the university”. Students are expected to
