Our school has received some used computers from a couple of organizations that we have given to children to use at home. Through the facilitation of the ITRC most classes are using Easy Tech and students have their user IDs and passwords. The ITRC trained the teachers in GradeSpeed this year. The teachers were provided a workshop on DiscoveryEducation.com and using the enVision online math resources. They have been guided in accessing online books in the Campus Tech Plan 2009-2010 4 of 10 St. Elmo Elementary Department of Instructional Technology classroom. Guidance was also given using AIMS. Teachers were given information through the Tech Cadre about their web pages, the forum, and where to get technology information on line in AISD. The school is trying to get projectors and document cameras in every classroom or at least one available for every team. Future Vision and Direction Three years from now you will see teachers using their laptops and innovation stations in presenting lessons that provide more video information and more interactive rigorous lessons that students are actively engaged in. Students will be involved in using on line resources, creating projects using computer software, video, cameras, and mp3 players. Teachers will use social networks to plan for the classroom. Campus Improvement Plan Alignment Through the teacher and student use of more on line videos and interactive resources the bilingual students should broaden their background knowledge, vocabulary, and strengthen their fluency rates in English. Through the use of more computer related student created projects students will be involved in higher level thinking and learn to work cooperatively in learning and achieving higher academic goals in reading, writing, math, and science.
