UCD Staff
On-going
UCD Access Centre has worked with Teaching &
Learning to incorporate workshops into a core
module on their Professional Certificate/Diploma
in University Teaching & Learning. It is planned
that the Disability Awareness and Universal
Design workshop will be delivered twice every
academic year. A workshop on Implementing
Universal Design in Module/Programme Planning
will also be offered annually.
Staff Training

Greater awareness of the difficulties
experienced by students with disabilities
in UCD and how academic staff can work
to alleviate some of the disadvantage
experienced by these students.
 Increased awareness of the
responsibilities of academic staff in UCD
with regard to students with disabilities.
 An understanding of the principles of
Universal Design for Instruction and how
the implementation of these principles
can result in numerous benefits for all
students in UCD.
Feedback:
 “This was an excellent workshop, many
thanks.”
 “Very good and informative session,
thank you!”
 “Excellent session today - very helpful
and informative”
Further develop the relationship between UCD
Access Centre and Teaching & Learning by
designing and delivering a wider range of
workshops.
