# 33
# 38
Two groups: one on each half of the game space separated by a rope tied 5 feet high.
Scatter a mixture of balls and other objects throughout both sides of the game space.
On the signal, the players from both sides of the game space try to throw all other objects out of their space over the rope into the other playing area.
Play for about two minutes, then stop and count how many objects are left in each half.
Foam balls
Fluff balls
Paper balls
Place 8 cones or spot markers in a straight line in the playing area. Have 1 student stand on or next to the marker. Have another student stand behind each student. You should have 8 lines with
2-3 students in each line depending on your numbers. (With 20 or more kids, form 10 lines) The first student in each line should have a ball. On the start signal, all students (with a ball) throw the ball straight out in front of them as far as they can. After all of the balls have been thrown, say,
“go” and have the students run and pick up their ball and bring it back and place it on or beside the marker. The next person picks up the ball and waits for the signal to throw. All students must throw and chase on command to ensure proper safety. Use a larger ball to practice beginning throwing.
Review Day 1. As students become proficient, change the type and size of the ball that they are throwing. (playground ball, tennis ball, etc.) If students are continuing to progress (the ball is being thrown forward in a straight line each time), have the students run to get the ball as soon as they throw it and the next person can throw immediately.
Divide the class into two groups. Place one group on one side of the playing area and the other group on the other side of the playing area.
Scatter yarn balls throughout both sides of the game space. On the signal, students should try to throw all of the balls from one side to the other side.
Emphasize to the students that they must throw the ball over the heads of the other team members.
Students should not be throwing the balls at other students. Play for about 2 minutes; stop and count how many objects are left in each half. Redistribute the balls and then play the game again.

Scatter various soft objects throughout both sides of the game space. On the signal, students should try to throw all of the objects from one side to the other side. Emphasize to the students that they must throw the objects over the heads of the other team members. Students should not be throwing the items at other students. Play for about 2 minutes; stop and count how many objects are left in each half. Redistribute the objects and then play the game again.

Week 33
Day 5 Divide the class into two groups. Place one group on one side of the playing area and the other group on the other side of the playing area.
Scatter various soft objects throughout both sides of the game space. Place containers on both sides of the playing area to be used as targets. Each item to be thrown should have its own container. On the signal, students should try to throw all of the objects from one side to the appropriate containers on the other side. Emphasize to the students that they must throw the objects over the heads of the other team members. Students should not be throwing the items at other students. Play for about 2 minutes; stop and count how many objects are in each container. Redistribute the objects and then play the game again. You may want to place pictures of the objects on the containers. This will make it easier for the students to know where to throw the objects.
Teacher Notes Tie a rope 5 feet high across gym and have your students throw balls over it to avoid throwing at others.
Watch where you are throwing; do not throw at others.
Throw only one ball at a time – must throw ball before picking up another ball.
Create a buffer zone between teams where no one can go.
Stress team cooperation and working together.
